Paulton Dental & Implant Centre prides itself on its state-of-the-art radiographic imaging suite. From routine intraoral X-rays, through to detailed and clear CBCT scans, we’re able to offer a number of diagnostic routes for our patients.
For your routine X-rays, we have Intraoral X-ray arms in every surgery, meaning no hassle and no stress to get the supporting images you need to see what’s going on with a problem tooth.
For larger-scale issues, or where a broader picture might actually help diagnose, thanks to our brand-new OPG unit, we’re able to provide ultra-clear panoramic images, showing us the entirety of your jaws and teeth, and how they are situated.
Finally, thanks to our Dexis OP3D CBCT unit, we’re able to offer super-detailed scans of our patients, giving us greater oversight than ever on your teeth, bone levels, and more. For those considering Dental Implants, that means you don’t need to find anywhere else to offer you imaging to provide the necessary level of security and comfort. We’re able to offer everything in-house, so that you can go into your surgery with a greater peace of mind.
If you’re a dental professional, you’re welcome to send your patients to us for supporting imagery, whether that be OPGs or CCBCTs. We’ll return them to your care with a detailed, clear, and high-resolution image, allowing you to proceed with the treatment you’re aiming to complete!

What is radiographic imaging in dentistry?
Radiographic imaging, also known as dental X-rays, allows dentists to see areas of your mouth that are not visible during a standard examination. It helps detect issues such as decay, infections, bone loss, and impacted teeth early, so they can be treated before becoming serious.
Are dental X-rays safe?
Yes, dental X-rays are very safe. At Paulton Dental, we use digital radiography, which exposes patients to significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays. Our modern equipment ensures accurate results while keeping your safety as our top priority.
When might I need a dental X-ray?
Dental X-rays are taken for various reasons—such as during your first visit, routine check-ups, or before certain treatments like implants or root canals. They help us plan and monitor your oral health effectively over time.
What types of dental X-rays do you offer?
We offer several types of radiographic imaging, including bitewing, periapical, panoramic (OPG), and CBCT scans. Each serves a different purpose, from checking cavities between teeth to providing detailed 3D images for complex procedures.
Do I need to prepare before having dental X-rays?
No special preparation is required for dental X-rays. Simply maintain good oral hygiene and arrive as you normally would for your appointment. Our team will guide you through the process to ensure you’re comfortable and informed at every step.
