Why Remove Three Wisdom Teeth Together?
Sometimes three wisdom teeth are causing trouble at the same time. One might be stuck under the gum while another is growing at an awkward angle and the third keeps trapping food. Your dentist or oral surgeon will check their position before deciding whether removing them together makes sense.
What the Appointment Feels Like
You’ll usually receive local anaesthetic, so the area being treated is numb. If you’re having several teeth removed, your dentist may discuss sedation if you’re especially nervous or the extractions are expected to be more involved.
The First Few Days After Removal
• Rest matters more than usual, especially on the first day when your mouth feels properly tired.
• Soft meals are your friend. Nothing crunchy rubbing against the extraction sites.
• Keep the extraction areas clean as instructed, but don’t poke around them because curiosity is not helping the healing process.
• Some soreness is expected, while severe or worsening pain deserves a call to your dentist.
When Should You Worry?
Dry socket is another reason to follow the aftercare instructions carefully. It happens when the blood clot at the extraction site is lost or breaks down too early, exposing the underlying area and causing significant pain.
Is Removing Three Wisdom Teeth at Once Worth It?
If all three teeth genuinely need removal, doing them together is usually the approach I’d prefer. One appointment. One recovery window. You get the awkward part out of the way instead of spending months thinking, “I’ve still got another one to deal with.”
