How to Remove Mouth Ulcer Quickly

2 min read

A mouth ulcer has a weird way of taking over your whole day. You notice it when you talk. Then again while eating. Even brushing your teeth suddenly feels like a bad idea. The good news is that most mouth ulcers heal on their own. Still, there are a few things that speed up the process and make them hurt a lot less while your mouth catches up.

Start by Leaving It Alone

The biggest mistake is poking at the ulcer every few hours just to see if it’s still there. It is. And every time you irritate it, healing slows down. I know it’s tempting. Don’t.

Rinse your mouth with warm salt water a couple of times during the day. It stings for a moment, then settles. That quick rinse often makes the ulcer feel calmer afterward, even if it doesn’t disappear overnight.

Small Changes That Actually Matter

Food makes a bigger difference than most people expect. Spicy meals usually make an angry ulcer feel even worse. The same goes for very hot drinks. Give your mouth a short break and stick with cooler food that’s soft enough not to scrape the sore.

• Warm salt water. Simple, cheap, and it still beats a lot of fancy tricks people swear by.

• If the pain keeps grabbing your attention, a pharmacy mouth ulcer gel usually gives quick relief while the spot heals.

• Your toothbrush matters more than you’d think. A soft one hurts less, and you’ll probably brush properly instead of rushing through it.

• Acidic fruit isn’t your friend right now. Wait a couple of days and you’ll enjoy it a lot more.

Give Your Mouth a Better Chance to Heal

Sometimes an ulcer keeps coming back because your mouth is getting irritated by something you barely notice. A sharp tooth. Braces rubbing against the same place. Even biting the inside of your cheek while you’re distracted. Fix that, and the ulcer often stops making repeat appearances.
